Whatever it Takes

The Harlem Children's Zone is an amazing organization that has a "whatever it takes" attitude about helping children to succeed. They have an extensive range of programs, from social services to charter schools. I first heard about HCZ on This American Life. HCZ President and CEO, Geoffrey Canada, has written a book, Whatever It Takes. I haven't read it yet but it is on my "hold" list at the library. It is also an organization worthy of a holiday donation.
